Elliott Rubinson

Awwww, now this is a man that I miss VERY much because he was only at 3 of the 5 shows. This is Elliott Rubinson, who was only touring for half of MSG's US tour. We saw him at the shows in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New York City. He's also the CEO of Dean Guitars, and tours with bands that use Deans (he's with Uli Jon Roth in New Zealand right now), which is why he was with MSG.

Admittedly we didn't know anything about him before we saw him, and at first we were more excited for the last two shows with the other bassist, Rev Jones, BUT WELL. IT'S FUNNY HOW THINGS WORK OUT. Elliott was one of the biggest sweethearts I've ever met (besides Gary of course) and he was excellent playing with MSG, and Rev Jones ended up being a big jerk that thought he was the shit, not to mention his playing style DID NOT FIT AT ALL with MSG's sound. And he thought that Kat and I were weird (which mind you, we WEREN'T acting like idiots around these guys. We weren't screaming "HORRRRSSESSSSS!!!!!" or anything like that )

But anyway, we got to meet Elliott after the NYC show. He was SO ADORABLY SWEET and he gave really cute hugs. We talked to him for awhile and he told Kat and I to come visit him in Florida sometime (which I would gladly do...). I told him that he's a great bass player, to which he seemed extremely flattered (I don't think people come up and tell him things like that very often....), and then I told him that I play bass and he got SO freaking excited. His face lit up and he was like, ".....REALLY?! That's so wonderful!!!" or something along those lines. It was so cute

So yeah, after we had those stupid encounters with Rev Jones, WE WANTED ELLIOTT BACK. REALLY BAD. It's hilarious how things turned around like that
